Purpose
This guide outlines the key information relating to AOz Utilities, a third-party energy broker being engaged to secure competitive electricity pricing for Owners Corporations we manage.
Overview of the Service
Oz Utilities conducts an independent review of common area electricity accounts across our managed portfolio approximately every 12–18 months. Their role is to:
• Analyse current billing data and tariffs.
• Leverage market access to secure competitive pricing.
• Present consolidated offers that typically include discounts and sign-up incentives.
• Recommend supplier switches only where cost savings are identified.
Value to Clients
Managers may refer to the following value points when communicating with clients:
• Cost Savings: Offers may include up to a 15% discount on usage and supply charges, plus a $50 sign-up credit. *Note offers will vary.
• No Lock-in Contracts: Clients may switch again at any time without penalty.
• Hassle-Free Process: Switching providers does not interrupt energy supply.
• Review Cycle: Conducted every 12–18 months.
Disclosure Requirements
As per section 122B of the Owners Corporations Act 2006:
• Campbell Corporate Services receives a $50 administration fee per utility (electricity or gas) placed through this process as outlined in S 11. 4 of the COA. This is paid by the Utility Company to Campbell Corporate Services.
Implementation Process
1. Review Triggered: Every 12–18 months, our internal team coordinates with Oz Utilities.
2. Quote Compilation: Oz Utilities prepares bulk quotes based on usage history.
AGM Minutes Resolution
That the Owners Corporation authorise Management to review the common electricity and gas account (where applicable) and will source the best available pricing for the Owners Corporation after the Victorian Default Offer has been released on the 1st of January. It was further resolved that if Management can achieve a cost saving for the Owners Corporation when compared to the current provider, then the respective account will be automatically transferred after 14-days of the offer being presented to the Owners Corporation, unless instructions have been received not to proceed. We offer our owners the ability to join our utility brokering on our friends & clients package where you may be able to receive discounts on your current electricity and gas bills by opting to join in and begin benefiting from our economies of scale.
Client Opt-Out
Clients may opt out of the annual utility review. This should be documented in the AGM Minutes.
When opt out instructions are received, please advise the Business Manager who will remove the property from the global list that is provided to OZ Utilities for the review.
